Overview
The department of Haematology at the Christian Medical College, Vellore has the appropriate infrastructure and faculty to aid in developing a molecular genetics training programme that may aid in progress of the diagnostic and research in this arena.
The students will registered under various universities like Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Faridabad, Sree Chitra Thirunal Institute of Medical Science & Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, Thiruvalluvar university, Vellore, Tamilnadu and also we have affiliation with TamilNadu Dr. MGR University.
Eligibility criteria
The candidates with MSc/M.Tech Life sciences with a minimum of 60% or CGPA 6.5 in the qualifying exam with individual fellowships (UGC, CSIR, ICMR, INSPIRE, DBT, etc.) may apply for the Junior Research Fellow/Senior Research Fellow position. The selection of research scholars will be based on the performance in written test/ interview. The candidate will be evaluated for a period of 6 months to 1 year before registration. The duration of the Ph.D. programme will be minimum of 3 years and shall not exceed 5 years expect under unavoidable circumstances with the approval of DAC members. The candidate should satisfactorily complete the course work and other requirements as per regulations and ordinances of the universities to be awarded with the Ph.D. degree.
